Patinated by time, in the middle of the vineyards, the Château de Chaintres is a charming 17th century manor house, located in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation.
The wine estate extends over around twenty hectares including the famous Clos du Château of an exceptional size and unique in the appellation. The wall was built in 1675 by the Oratorian Fathers of Notre Dame des Ardilliers who chose this place for its land and its sunshine.
Since 1938, the Tigny family has continued the tradition by offering you refined wines, including Saumur Champigny. Elisabeth de Tigny Mourot, General Director, combines tradition and modernity to offer quality wines. We are one of the first estates certified in Sustainable Agriculture in the appellation. In conversion since 2010, our wines are certified organic from the 2013 vintage, by the Ecocert France label.
