My name is Donal Cleary and I am passionate about designing and making furniture and homeware.
From a young age I have always liked working with wood and being able to make something from it. I am a third generation of my family to take up a career in carpentry.
I strive to create pieces of furniture that will last the test of time not just in how it’s made but in its design that is timeless and minimalist. I believe that something can’t go out of style if it is not made to a particular style in the first place. This along with using tried and tested methods of construction make for a piece that will last physically but not look dated in the future which would give reason to get rid.
I use a variety of power and hand tools, some of which are almost 200 years old. These tools are very effective for the work I do which is often only making one of something, taking less time than setting up the power tool equivalent or being much more difficult to do than by hand.
