The state of Sikkim in India, located between Nepal and Bhutan, is the first in the world to have banned the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers throughout its territory, the use of which is now considered criminal . This return to the sources of an agriculture in harmony with nature and traditional knowledge enriched by modern research on organic farming allows farmers to cultivate products of extraordinary quality in magnificent and preserved landscapes. In October 2018, we discovered this region, its spectacular environment and the permanent and communicative joy of its inhabitants. Following this trip, we decided to promote the commitment of this territory in this unique and exemplary approach by making known in France the exceptional products that come from it. A word to translate what we felt while surveying places of culture: wonder. It is also a collaboration of almost 15 years with our supplier which is strengthened through this project, and we are happy to perpetuate this friendly and loyal collaboration. Turmeric and ginger are exclusively grown by independent farmers. Our supplier supervises the collection of plants through a local collaborator very involved in the support and coordination of producer groups, then takes charge of the various stages of transformation in his company located in Calcutta: drying, grinding, spraying, mixing ingredients.
