Something about Bagasse
Bagasse is the fibrous residue remaining after sugarcane stalks are crushed to extract their juice. It's a readily available byproduct of the sugar industry. Where billions of tons of sugarcane are produced in a year which supplies for more than 75% of global sugar demands. When the pulp is dried in sunlight the dried fibers remain which is transformed into bagasse pellets and has various applications, including its use as a sustainable alternative for disposable food packaging, cutlery and others.
Also, as a byproduct, bagasse doesn't require additional land or energy to grow. It can be industrially and home compostable, making it a more environmentally friendly option compared to plastics.
