What happened to beauty? From the charm hidden in everyday life to the atypical aesthetic regime of scientific imagery, from its incredible ability to think about the living to its innumerable literary, philosophical, technical, historical and artistic applications, beauty proves to be a particularly fertile intellectual ground. . This primer crosses the axes of reflection around a notion as overused as it is elusive, but which, according to the forty-three contributions brought together here, remains at the center of our most current and lively concerns. Combining both a reflection on the expected terms (Greece, Style, Sublime, Venus) and other much more unusual ones (Waste, Robot, Chaos, Octopus), beauty is present as a framework structuring our thoughts but also as a cracks, diffuse and subterranean, in the interstices of all our modes of existence.
