My cocaine museum

Gold and cocaine are the two raw materials for My Cocaine Museum. It is during their transformation and refinement that these two substances bring back with them a history of oppression and slavery. In this book, Australian anthropologist Michael Taussig takes as a starting point the proposal to build a museum of Cocaine (which would be the reflected image of the Gold Museum of the Bank of Republic in Bogotá) and paints an uncompromising portrait of life Afro-Colombian miners sucked into the dangerous world of cocaine production deep in the rainforest on the coast peaceful of Colombia.
