Super Detective Blomkvist 1

Kalle Blomkvist is a young aspiring detective who likes to compare himself to the best-known characters in this profession, such as Hercule Poirot or Lord Peter Wimsey.
He enjoys lying under the pear tree in the garden giving lectures on criminology to his loyal imaginary interlocutor.    During the summer holidays, he discovers some strange events that take place in his apparently idyllic town and, with the help of his friends Anders and Eva-Lotta, he will embark without hesitation on an adventure that can sometimes become terrifyingly dangerous even for a super detective like him.    This detective novel is the first in a series of three.
In 1937, Astrid Lindgren worked as secretary to Harry Söderman, professor of criminology at Stockholm University, and used everything she learned from him in this trilogy of the super-detective Blomkvist.    In the only interview given by Stieg Larsson, author of the Millennium trilogy, he said that the character of Mikael Blomkvist is nicknamed by the press "Kalle Blomkvist", like the character of Astrid Lindgren.
In this same interview she says that the character of Lisbeth is inspired by Pippi: «I thought of Pippi Longstocking, a girl so strong that she could lift a horse. ¿What would she be like today? ¿What would she be like as an adult?
That idea evolved into the imposing Lisbeth Salander.    Super detective Blomkvist, at only thirteen years old, is already an expert at identifying clues, solving enigmas and seeing beyond what police officers and other adults overlook.
