Since 2004, we, the artisans of the Ercus workshop, have been shaping sugar in all its forms to infuse a touch of sweetness and originality into your coffee breaks, your tea moments or other favorite snacks. The tablets at Ercus are available in 3 colors from white to brown to red. The color is naturally provided by sugar cane: the darker the cane sugar, the less refined it is: the presence of plant extracts present in the cane will give it a more or less amber color and a taste which can be resembling notes of caramel. Vergeoise (or also called brown sugar in Belgium), is an unrefined sugar generally coming from the residual syrup from sugar crystallization. Vergeoise is darker, similar to cocoa, and its aroma is more pronounced.
