On May 13, 1984 Johan Cruijff retired as a professional football player. The legend number 14 made his debut with Ajax and left for the Spanish FC Barcelona in 1973. Cruijff returned to the Netherlands in 1982 via Levante. He signed with Ajax. After a disagreement with the board of directors, Cruijff decided in 1983 to sign with arch-rival Feyenoord. 'El Salvador' took Feyenoord by the hand and made the team from Rotterdam the champion. Cruijff retired as a football player against PEC Zwolle on 13 May 1984.
