This poster is a historical map of Europe made by G.W. Bacon around 1920. The map shows the geopolitical situation after the First World War. The political and territorial changes brought about by the war included the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires, the overthrow of the Tsarist government in Russia, the establishment or re-establishment of the independent states of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland , Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, the transfer of Alsace-Lorraine from Germany to France and the extension of the Italian territory to the region around Trieste.
