Poster of famous work by Ludolf Bakhuysen from 1689. The piece is a fine example of maritime art. With this ship, Prince William III left for England in 1688 to expel the Catholic King James II and to safeguard the Protestant religion. The red flag reads "For faith and freedom" in Latin. Bakhuysen made the painting in 1689, the year William III and Mary Stuart were crowned King and Queen of England. This beautiful work of art hangs in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
