The Essenza di Riviera project has its roots in the first post-war period, when the laboratories of Profumi Floreal Varaldo were born in Imperia. At that time, the western Ligurian Riviera was one of the capitals of the essential oils and natural perfumes industry, like nearby Provence.
At the time there were numerous companies for the processing of the essences obtained from the lavender of the Maritime Alps and from the flowers grown on the terraces of the hills adjacent to the sea and the Varaldo Laboratory stood out for the great creativity and quality of its products, based on olive oil and DOP natural extracts.
In 2006, the Varaldo Cosmetica company launched the Essenza di Riviera brand, a line of 100% natural cosmetics focused on the extraordinary cosmetic properties of the Ligurian Riviera olive oil.
