Available size: 0.70 l Technique: London Dry Alcoholic degree: 44.1% vol The fourth of our seasonal editions, Eugin Winter is a London Dry Gin characterized by the use of a rather unusual ingredient both in the world of distillation and in our latitudes in general. These are lichens, extremely complex organisms that live for decades on the bark of plants and which, during the winter, are among the very few things that continue to grow in the woods. Distilled with a traditional technique, the aroma of earth, musk and lichen wood emerges with kindness right away, well balancing the resinous notes of juniper. The finish reserves the surprise of a subtle but clear floral note, which almost anticipates the awakening of nature in the spring to come. This unusual London Dry Gin lends itself best to drinking straight. The blending enhances the woody notes, which make both the Gin Tonic and the Martini Cocktail absolutely unique, taking care, however, not to cover it with the other ingredients. Tasting Notes The first notes of wood emerge on the nose: wood, moss, damp earth and bark are clearly present but harmonize well with the resinous hints of juniper berries. On the palate, the juniper resin remains present, but the hints of wood announced on the nose explode with elegance and balance, giving the very sensation of being in a wood on a winter's day. The finish is that of a classic dry London Dry Gin, with however a subtle but clear floral note, almost of violet, which opens and makes the drink extremely persistent and harmonizes the hints of this unusual Gin.
