Its lantern located more than 100 m above sea level (32.85 m above the ground) extends to more than 53 km. This Breton lighthouse can be visited. Its construction began in 1946 and was completed in 1950. From the top of the gallery an exceptional panorama: the moor, Fort La Latte, the harbor of St Malo, the Cotentin coast, off the Normandy angle islands, the bay of Saint Brieuc, the island of Bréhat. At the tip of Cap Fréhel, the old semaphore has now disappeared. It was burned during the Second World War, by French soldiers, before the arrival of the Germans.
