Originally present in the southern regions of Australia and Tasmania, eucalyptus has become acclimatized in several parts of the world, particularly in Mediterranean countries. 

Belonging to the Myrtaceae family, there are more than 600 species. 

The radiated eucalyptus, or eucalyptus radiata, is smaller than its cousin the globose eucalyptus. 

The essential oil, obtained from its leaves, gives off a refreshing smell.
