Éalso called bitter orange, the bitter orange tree, is a hybrid between the grapefruit and the mandarin tree. 

It was introduced to Europe by the Arabs during the Crusades. 

The essential oil of petitgrain bitter orange, “Citrus aurantium”, does not come from the fruit, but from the distillation of the leaves and small branches of the bitter orange tree. 

Sharing the sweet fragrance of orange blossom and containing linalool.
