Wintergreen Essential Oil

Wintergreen is a small shrub found mainly in Asia, more precisely in Nepal or China. 

It is characterized by its very fragrant intense green leaves and its red berries. Its essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves. 

The water vapor and essential oils from the leaf are carried away, then the vapor condenses, allowing the water and essential oil to separate. This aromatic essential oil is mainly composed of methyl salicylate.
