Fat wool - wool in fleece (medicinal wool) Our fat wool (medicinal wool) is natural sheep's wool with a residual fat content of approx. 2-3%. This residual fat content is the so-called wool wax (lanolin), which has skin-care properties. The wool is washed without chemicals, but only with warm water, soap and soda, so that the good lanolin remains in the wool. After washing, the wool is carded, i.e. combed, into an airy fleece that can be used in many ways. Traditionally, medicinal wool is used for inflamed and/or weeping wounds, inflamed nipples, diaper rash and bedsores. Possible uses: Baby and child care: We recommend caring for the baby's bottom with the honey cream after cleaning. A small piece of grease wool can be placed on top. This care can be carried out preventively at every diaper change. When using alternative cotton diapers, babies have fewer or no red spots in the diaper area. Nursing care: Apply the honey cream to the diaper area and other areas requiring care after cleaning. A piece of grease wool can be placed on top. In case of weeping or For open wounds, it is recommended to place a cotton cloth between the wool and the wound. Furthermore, the wool can be used wherever it feels good, e.g.B. on the back, around the neck, on the chest and many also use the wool in their shoes as padding. Filling material / processing: The wool can also be used as filling material for pillows, underblankets, duvets or many other things. You can also spin combed wool and knit something from the spun wool. It is also ideal for wet or dry felting. If you have any questions about the application or use of the wool, just let us know and we will be happy to help you. Wool as ear protection: Natural sheep's wool is also often used in the ears, as protection against the wind or when you have something on your ears. Here we have a special wool which is completely natural and has a very high lanolin content. This wool is our high fat wool. Simply form a small ball and place it at the entrance of the orhmuschel. The same wool can be used for several days. Over time, the lanolin in the wool is used up, so it is recommended to simply replace the wool.
