The gestation of Funerarty, a funeral articles company, matured over approximately 3 years, following a stroke of heart.
It was when I saw this life-size funeral wreath (about 2.5m long and wide) that it all started. I couldn't budge, I only thought of this pearl crown that decorated the cemeteries, all in pearls, thousands of pearls, I wanted to reproduce this crown of yesteryear.
This is how without a plan, model, archive or machine, I created a prototype then others... and then came the idea of creating Funerarty.
The pandemic having passed by, I saw how much the confiscation of death was doing damage to the minds of bereaved families. The absence of ritual and the things left unsaid are terrible for moving forward on your path of mourning. Not being from a medical background, I wanted to bring my stone to the building for a well-being.
Always in the spirit of helping others, I wanted to give them back what was taken from them, by allowing them to afford a transitional object in order to transcend their pain. A decorative object that allows him to collect himself by blending into the detail, an object that allows him to escape and offer his heart a space of serenity while thinking of the other.
The loss of a loved one is shocking, even when you are prepared, so you need rituals, symbolic supports that allow the mind to cling to something.
It is with this idea of relieving the pain of bereavement that Funerarty was born. I really like vintage objects and being able to recreate funeral articles from yesteryear allows me to give meaning to my creations, to know that someone will be somewhat relieved by contemplating the flowers in seed beads.
Each piece has been lovingly crafted by hand, so each creation is unique, as was your relationship with your loved one.
These creations can therefore be offered on the occasion of the funeral of friends, relatives of friends, a death anniversary.
