Chateau Laville Bertrou Grand Red Wine

The plots of Château Laville Bertrou are located on an exceptional terroir within the very high-quality Minervois-la-Livinière appellation. This extraordinary terroir, acquired by Gérard Bertrand in 1997, makes it possible to produce powerful and distinctive wines, like the great wines of Languedoc. Benefiting from a semi-arid Mediterranean climate with a temperate winter variant, the vines face due south on the heights of the village of La Livinière, at an altitude of around 120 m. Château Laville Bertrou Grand Vin is a selection of the best plots of the Estate. The soil consists of a mosaic of stripped marls, associated with calcareous sandstones and compact limestones dating from the Eocene (Tertiary era). This type of terroir naturally limits the production of each vine. The deep rooting of the vines allows them to withstand low rainfall and water stress. The significant amount of sunshine favors the slow ripening of the grapes.
