How cold steaks became a brand – The story of HOTTY
We – Jan and Gerrit – have known each other since school. Even back then, we preferred talking about burgers and steaks to math. And to be honest, that hasn’t changed to this day. But what had to change at some point: cold grilled meat.
‘Well, if you grill, you eat cold.“
A sentence that we heard more often than we would have liked. While one person is taking the perfect steak off the grill, the first one is already cold. No microwave, no warming device, no good solution – at least not until we developed one ourselves.
The idea was simple: a stainless steel plate embedded in wood, heated with simple tea lights. No technology, no electricity, no nonsense. Simply a clever, handcrafted solution – born out of a real problem.
What began as a craft project for our own barbecues became a brand. Friends wanted one. Then friends of friends. And so HOTTY was born – out of a true passion for BBQ and the desire to finally be able to enjoy a warm meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

With two temperature zones – meat and vegetables stay separate but hot.

The XL version – for large BBQs or catering events.
