HEJ! I’m a Swede who is set to re-define what a spirit and red wine can be, as we’re entering a future where more people just want the taste, not the alcohol. For me, quality is a top priority no matter what I do, and so a natural starting point for Gnista was the sensory requirements. “What’s the essence of a great cocktail or wine drinking moment, given that the buzz factor is removed?” I’ve allowed myself not to be restricted to how things are usually done, nor what ingredients to use (or not to use).

For me, it’s important that the products are not imitations of existing alcoholic spirits or wines (in my opinion, a dealcoholised wine will always be an inferior copy to an alcoholic version) and what matters the most is that we end up with liquids that actually do the job.

In 2019 I launched Gnista, and the two first non-alcoholic spirits truly resembling fine spirits. We make Gnista locally and by hand here in Sweden, and in small batches. We use a unique combination of modern gastronomy and food tech, and source only the very best ingredients. Techniques used are among other maceration, fermentation, filtration and steam distillation. Given the natural ingredients used, the character of each batch varies, why our Master Blender Fredrik Beskow is crucial.

With the bartending crowd in unison praise, (the spirits are served at 3 of the world's 50 best bars) - I decided to apply the same line of thought to red wine. And so, in 2022 I launched Gnista Red French and Italian style. They certainly don’t taste like wine. But consumers unite - Gnista Red works when you want a mouth filling red wine experience, where tannins, spice, earth and acidity align. Today, they are served at 3, 2 and 1 star restaurants throughout Europe and the states. As well as in the homes of foodies who want a red wine experience, just not the alcohol.
