BOOK - How to fix everything (or almost)

Guaranteed anti-planned obsolescence! We are surrounded by things and objects that we buy, pile up and throw away as soon as they become damaged or show signs of weakness. However, producing a new object has a high ecological cost, in addition to what it costs us. To save money and the planet's resources, there is one solution: repairing and taking care of our objects. Many of them can be rehabilitated with a few simple actions, accessible to everyone. In this book you will find: • A selection of the most common devices • For each object, basic repairs to be done alone • Tips and techniques to extend the life of objects • Advice from César, the REcyclerie repairer, to guide you • Solutions to get help when it is impossible to repair. Here is THE book that tells you how to give your most common devices a second life when they break down ... and (try to) save the planet. The REcyclerie, a third place for experiments linked to eco-responsibility, opened in 2014 in Paris. Its ambition: to raise awareness by providing concrete solutions in a fun and positive way. It welcomes a large audience with its responsible cafeteria, its productive and educational urban farm, its eco-cultural program and its repair workshop: the REné workshop. You can drop off your items there for repair or come and do DIY on site and benefit from the precious advice of César, the repairman of the REcyclerie. An agricultural engineer by training, Lucile Orliac one day decided to return to her first passion: books. Depending on the day, she corrects, translates, writes or chronicles. Curious by nature, she also likes gardening, her children, decoration, crafts, taking the train, and "knowing how it works". She lives in Lot-et-Garonne, where she (also) runs a guest house.
