Haribo is a German confectionery brand founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel in Bonn, hence its name, formed from the first letters of *Hans Riegel Bonn*. The adventure begins with a small craft business where Hans Riegel creates candies made from gum and sugar. In 1922, he invented the iconic *Gummibärchen* (gummy bear), a treat that would become the brand's flagship product.

Thanks to innovation and the growing popularity of its sweets, Haribo is growing rapidly. After the Second World War, the company was taken over by the founder's sons, who modernized production and expanded distribution internationally. In the 1960s, Haribo established itself in France by purchasing the company *Lorette*, marking the beginning of its European expansion.
