Henri Marie (1839-1925) was a brother belonging to the community of the Holy Family in Belley. A botanist for over 30 years, he has strived to understand the nature and properties of the plants he studies, particularly those he finds in the mountains of Bugey, Dauphiné and Savoie. In 1905, he developed herbal liqueurs and, upon his death, left behind the formulas still used today.
