Palo Santo is a natural incense, of millenary tradition, obtained from the Bursera graveolens plant. It is the variety of the Manabì region in Ecuador. The Palo Santo of this region lives in a favorable environment: the terrain is not very rocky and the temperature changes are more delicate and the climatic and environmental conditions are affected by the proximity of the sea. These factors make the aroma of this variety more delicate and balsamic. How are chips used? Palo Santo shavings are obtained from the crumbling of the wood of the Bursera graveolens tree. Using them is very simple: 1. Light a charcoal and place it on the metal mesh that is inside the brazier (see one of our handmade terracotta braziers). 2. When the charcoal becomes hot, take a pinch of shavings and place it on top of it. 3. Palo Santo Chips Dust ignites in no time and releases abundant smoke. 4. The duration of the fumigation of the shavings is quite limited for this reason it is often necessary to renew the incense. The ease of use is the strong point of the shavings, since once lit they burn independently. They produce a higher amount of smoke than other Palo Santo formats.
