Hoan Kiem Lake or Lake of the Risen Sword in central Hanoi is associated with a myth about King Le Loi who received a sword from a magical turtle in the lake, which he could use to defeat his enemies. The rectangular shape of the blade is typical of this Asian paring knife. The knife tip is slightly rounded to make chopping and slicing vegetables easier. The knife is ideal for preparing carrots, cucumbers, cabbage and other vegetables. Each of our knives is handcrafted by a traditional blacksmith factory in Cao Bang in northern Vietnam.
