The story of HeulNichtRum
If you have read carefully up to this point, you will certainly have noticed the name Octopussy, which has already been mentioned twice and is inseparably linked to HeulNichtRum. Apparently this is not a person – or a living being? –that one would like to meet alone in the dark. But who or what is Octopussy anyway? To understand this, we need to look back into the past – a past when there were still hardy sailors and genuine pirate ships. One of these ships was the Black Tear, on which the infamous Octopussy was hired as rum steward. Under the leadership of Captain Sot, a real drunkard, she was forced to ration the rum for the crew day in, day out – and to endure the constant whining: “I didn’t get any yesterday!“or “That guy has a lot more in his glass than I do!”“there were the most bearable cries. No wonder that Octopussy eventually got fed up with it, since she herself wasn't allowed to drink a single drop of the good rum. So one night she decided to secretly leave the ship. Of course she took the rum with her. ‘Have fun crying,” she whispered before disappearing into the depths of the sea. Unfortunately, her disappearance the next morning did not go unnoticed. With the first parrot cry, Captain Sot was on his feet, and with the second he was already cursing Octopussy's name and this shameless breach of trust. Gesticulating wildly and looking out to sea, Sot clung to the railing. ‘Damn you, Octopussy!“,he screamed. ‘I curse you to perpetual rum production! You should not rest until you have combined all the flavors from Jamaica to Nicaragua. May your betrayal be your undoing forever!“
His words were followed by a huge black wave that shook the ocean in which Octopussy was still swimming. As soon as it reached her, she was pulled towards the coast with tremendous force. No amount of swimming or kicking could break the curse. And as Octopussy was swept away by the swirling whirlpools, she made a decision: she would get revenge on Sot. She would find a way to break this curse. And she already had a plan – the Rumbillion. Will you also support Octopussy and become a part of it?
