Classic cocktail mixing triple sec with cranberry juice, lime juice and premium vodka. The Cosmopolitan is one of those cocktails that have had different versions throughout the ages. The origin of this cocktail is often debated. The most recognized version is that attributed to Toby Cecchini of The Odeon, in Manhattan, in 1987. He brought his personal touch to the already known versions: the modern Cosmo was thus created. It was of course with the broadcast of the series “Sex and the City” that the Cosmopolitan achieved the status of pop culture icon. By the late '90s, it topped bar charts across the country and became a symbol of independent women, the burgeoning cocktail revolution, and men ordering their cocktails in rocks glasses to avoid to look too “girly”.
