This is the story of Jgin, of an ancient still, of perfumes, traditions and colors of its territory, Vallesina, in the Marche.
We were born and raised with scents and colors
of their land, from strong traditions transformed from grandparents to parents, from
memories and fun of when we organized the wheat harvest,
the tomatoes were harvested and then the preserve was prepared, until the
most exciting moment: the harvest. School had started, summer was over,
but this nostalgic note was sweetened by the aromas and scents of the bunches and
of vine leaves wafting through the air.
The strong bond with our territory has us
pushed to take courage and break away from the usual patterns, finding and experimenting with something more creative and
satisfying. The pandemic arrives, the moment
ideal for starting the activity, with the first studies on wild herbs,
medicinal plants, extraction techniques and above all thanks to skill
, creativity and knowledge
food and wine dishes of my husband Michele, we dusted off an old one of his
still left by his grandfather. The first ones begin
trials, sleepless nights and the desire to create something that could encompass
our dreams, our memories, our traditions, anything we could
to transform to our children, something that could celebrate our territory.
We studied, we tried, we worked hard to get there
finally to the birth of JGIN, the first London dry gin from Vallesina which
celebrates the territory, the first London dry gin from the distillation of the leaf
of Verdicchio. Jgin is a bit like us
third son, because in him you can find the bonds and scents of ours
territory, the summary of our passions.
