Kashtanka

Published in 1887, «Kashtanka» is a story by Anton Chekhov present in all Russian schools as an introductory reading. It narrates the adventures of a dog that gets lost in the street during a snowy night and ends up being adopted by a circus artist. She is so intelligent that her new owner is delighted and begins to train her to act with her. But an unexpected event frustrates his premature debut.
