Nutmeg - Nut meg ground

Our nutmegs grow on the big green nutmeg trees in forest gardens near the city of Kandy. The nutmegs ripen on the tree until they fall to the ground, and are therefore fully ripe when collected. The nut is removed, after which they are dried whole, ground and sent to us immediately afterwards. The nutmeg is spicy and aromatic with a slightly sweet aftertaste and is fantastic in baked goods, drinks, chai and of course a good homemade lasagna with bechamel.
