Kate Dumbleton Jewellery

Kate, from Wales, is an experienced jewellery designer with 20+ years in the trade. She puts sustainability at the heart of her business and works in recycled silver, gold, ethically sourced gemstones and uses eco gift packaging. Described as ‘eclectic’ by press, she is inspired by wide ranging themes such as nature, ancient crafts, Celtic design, myths, her family history and art movements such as Deco. From floral and love-heart romantic pieces to modern, geometric and ‘elegant punk’ designs, Kate Dumbleton Jewellery offers something for every occasion and there is always a story behind every collection. Some work comes out of experimentation. The Aqua collection in silver and freshwater pearls, was created by dropping molten metal into liquids. Jewellery literally shaped by water.

Kate trained in London with a Degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing and set up her business in the mid ‘90s where she gained international recognition. She has designed for the catwalk, diverse clients such as Kylie Minogue and Peter Capaldi in his role as Doctor Who and she has freelanced for companies including Next, Swarovski and Clogau.

Kate designs regularly for National Museum Wales mixing ancient with modern styling to produce unique handmade and cast collections inspired by the museum treasures. The Equestrian and Celt Link pieces grew out of an interest in Bronze Age metalwork, now given a fashionable twist.

She also teaches jewellery making when possible. Learning is key to Kate’s business; she is always trying new techniques to further her jewellery knowledge.

Kate is excited to launch on Ankorstore with a variety of collections; some favorites and popular reissued pieces from her archives plus brand new ranges. All pieces are made with care and hand finished by Kate in Penarth, south Wales where she lives. Kate is happy to work with Retailers on exclusive designs.
