Bells have long had great symbolic and practical significance in folk magic and witchcraft. They are considered a means of warding off evil spirits and the evil eye and are associated with the divine, creative power and the feminine. They can be rung in rituals to announce intentions and focus energy, and they can be used to invoke the gods, the dead, and fairy folk. In many cultures and spiritual traditions, bells are attached to clothing or worn as amulets, both by humans and important animals. Measuring approximately 1" diameter, this Tibetan brass bell has been gently oxidized and brushed and hangs simply from a 26" brass chain with a handmade hook and eye clasp.
