MOTIVATION
What drives you?
Mostly a passion! So does founder Christiane Wader. In 2011 her life changed - suddenly and unexpectedly. After suffering from breast cancer in 2010 at the young age of just 27, she was diagnosed with multiple liver metastases.
Fortunately, she quickly made contact with medical researchers and biologists in this field, who convinced her to change her eating habits and adopt a ketogenic diet from then on. Since February 2012, Christiane has been living a ketogenic lifestyle – consistently and in all situations.
She quickly became ambitious to prepare all dishes as authentically and deliciously as possible. Ultimately, she wanted to continue to live a pleasurable life and maintain her new diet consistently and, if possible, forever.
In 2012, however, it was still extremely difficult to obtain keto-suitable raw materials, let alone find ketogenic convenience products. So there was only one solution: do it yourself!
THE PATH TO KETOFAKTUR®
Many people around Christiane had already developed an interest in the ketogenic diet, but quickly realized that it proved to be very difficult to integrate into their daily lives.
However, Christiane's first breads were so popular with everyone who tried them that her husband Patrick quickly came up with the idea of making the breads available to everyone. So Christiane developed the most important staple food that most users of the ketogenic diet lack: The first fully baked KETOGENIC bread!
The more patients in her circle were missing the typical "evening meal" and therefore could not imagine following a ketogenic diet permanently, the more Christiane's desire to found KETOFAKTUR® grew.
Parallel to the development of her tasty breads, Christiane began writing the KETOLUMNE (ketogenic column), in which she shared knowledge and a lot of experience with interested parties and those affected, and gave lectures, etc. à. for the Academy for Medical Professions (AMF).
Her motivation was to help people understand and spread the word about the ketogenic diet, but also to show ways to overcome the challenges along the way. Thanks to the intensive exchange with experts, Christiane was able to continuously develop her knowledge and thus always remain up to date with the latest research. Christiane has been in complete remission since November 2011. This further encourages them to make keto feasible for everyone. Keto is your anchor, your goal!
After three years of product development, company founding, brand development, production research, raw material analysis, supplier search, sales channel development, after they had already supplied the KOLIBRI “Keto for Breast Cancer” study and had also received a positive response in their initial discussions with local retailers, Christiane and Patrick were close to the final “go” for the first time in 2017.
However, getting a start-up with production as a one-woman show – with Christiane's medical history – up and running proved to be a major hurdle.
THE (FIRST) GOAL
In 2018, Christiane met our most important partners in the production of our products—the first people with exactly the same standards, the same goals, the same passion, and the technical capabilities to bring Christiane's recipes to life!
In 2019, a wonderful collaboration emerged that continues to this day.
The “baby” KETOFAKTUR® learned to walk.
Since then, the range of our own products, along with a few carefully selected ketogenic products from other manufacturers in the online shops, has continued to grow, and there will be no shortage of ideas that are already in various stages of development in the coming years.
