Raw lacquer Ki-urushi is used in most of the basic steps of traditional Japanese kintsugi, to re-glue broken parts, to do filling or repair work, raw lacquer is used for Mugi -Urushi adhesive mixture and for the Sabi - Urushi filling mixture with the Jinoko earth powder, while drying, ki-urushi becomes very dark brown to black.
