The crown of the monarchy was intended as a symbol of the new form of government. Therefore, at the same time, the crown should radiate the prosperity, splendor and continuity expected of good governance. In addition, the embossing gemstones on the coronation were suitable. Especially the large table-cut sapphire - which at the anointings was placed over the forehead of the king - impressed with its size and bore a testimony of wealth while at the same time containing a narrative linked to the story. The royal crown of the monarchy was to signal exaltation and exclusivity that could impress at a proper distance. The motif is photographed for the book Royal Treasures and Crown Jewels.
