The middle compartment is one large compartment. The two side pockets contain a pencil case with zipper and 3 shallow insert pockets on one side and a pocket for your mobile and one shallow zipper pocket on the other side. I also used a light colored lining, which is nice because you can easily find all your stuff in your bag. The design has been conceived in such a way that the bag 'hangs' in the shoulder strap, as it were, with a wide, adjustable shoulder strap so that it sits comfortably on your shoulder. And the nice thing is that, if you take more stuff with you, the bag gets wider at the bottom, revealing a hidden color! The measurements: Measured from the lowest point from the front, the bag is 23.5 cm high. The widest point of the bag is 36cm and the bag is 5-15cm deep (at the front and back the bag can be wider at the bottom - then the 3rd color in the bag will also be more visible). FYI/reference: due to the curves, no A4 size fits in the leather bag. In this design I was inspired by round shapes and volume changes.
