Cassagnac is a unique product which can be compared to an Irish Cream but which has a real specificity because it is made from Armagnac. The recipe for producing Cassagnac is secret, but we easily find the chocolate and caramel notes which are associated with cream and Armagnac. Very balanced, velvety, it contains less fat than classic Irish creams. The Armagnac used for its production brings richness and complexity. History "When I was a child, I visited my grandparents very regularly. They lived in the countryside in the South West of France, a very agricultural France at the time. They were wine growers, they owned orchards and a few cows. These stays were a good opportunity to taste good fresh milk from the farm. I loved the taste and texture of this fresh milk. My paternal grandmother, an excellent cook, made all kinds of desserts and she often used milk cream which she obtained by resting whole milk. My grandparents produced wine and, in season, harvested fruit. They also had wine and fruit distilled by a traveling distiller to produce brandy. I was bathed in this atmosphere during my childhood. As an adult, out of taste and passion, I in turn took over an estate in Armagnac. However, I was looking for a product that would combine the passion and power of an Armagnac with the softness and roundness of the milk cream that I enjoyed as a child. CASSAGNAC was born from this research, it is an outcome, the junction between the child and the adult that I have become. We had a lot of oaks at my parents' house, I am a lover of these majestic trees so representative of the hills and causses of the South West of France. An oak grove is called “Cassanea” in old southern French. In the same way that I mixed milk cream and Armagnac, I put together the words Cassanéa and Armagnac to give birth to CASSAGNAC."
