I make your future Gratounette myself in my workshop in Normandy and I use as much as possible fabrics that I am given and that I reuse (upcycled). I want to push my conscious approach to the end. Several models are available depending on the donations I receive. Characteristics : . Front side: thick cotton fabric or non-woven fabric to ensure a good grip and a lifespan of several months depending on your use. . Pile Side: Untreated burlap that provides a scraping side without scratching the cleaned surface. . On the heart side: upcycled wadding (in quilts or pillows that are no longer used), light and airy material for quick drying without odor from your sponge. . I offer several models to choose from depending on the fabrics at my disposal and these may vary according to donations. . I add a tab annotated " L'aiguille Verte " which allows you to hang your sponge to drain it. . The outer stitching is done on all 4 sides (unlike other reusable sponges you'll find on the market) for extra sturdiness and longevity. . The durability of your sponge can extend to several months depending on how much you use it. My advice for maximum longevity of your Gratounette: Put your sponge in the washing machine once or twice a month at a maximum of 40°C and in a washing bag to increase its lifespan. Do not use the dryer after washing, prefer to put your reusable sponge in the sun, even behind a window, from time to time. This method guarantees the extinction of microbes that may persist.
