SILD Single Malt Whiskey CRANNOG 48% 0.7ltr.

834 kilometers lie between the Upper Bavarian foothills of the Alps and the North Sea island of Sylt. And you won't believe what connects the two places: REAL PASSION FOR WHISKEY. On the one hand, Sylt - which has historically been handed down as Sild - offers us a unique storage location for our genuine Sylt SILD single malt whiskeys with its beautiful coastal landscape, rough sea, miles of sandy beaches and mighty cliff edges. After the success of the pioneering project SILD "CRANNOG", probably the only single malt whiskey in the world that is stored in a ship at sea, the second Sylt single malt whiskey "JÖL EN REEK" was created. A single malt whisky, which is stored on the island of Sylt in a former bunker and is the only whiskey with Sylt peat and malted barley to feel the harsh island climate. GRET PALUCCA Brilliant ideas and visions often fail in reality, and that's what almost happened with SILD. The cost of storing the whiskey casks was unaffordable on the island. Quote from Alexander Sievers: “If we can't store on land, then we'll just go to the water. A ship is needed on which the whiskey can mature”. After the historic cutter “The Angels' Share" served as a floating whiskey warehouse, since 2021 the "Gret Palucca" from 1941 has been the home for hand-picked 100 liter whiskey casks in which the limited SILD "CRANNOG" single malt whiskey matures to perfection. With its valuable cargo, it is now anchored in List, the northernmost port in Germany. Malting barley and spring water from the island of Sylt are used for this strictly limited whiskey specialty. The SILD is perfected in small wooden barrels on the historic cutter "GRET PALUCCA" with the home port of List. Traditionally, ships were moored to wooden poles (Gaelic: CRNNOG). The movements of the sea and the rough North Sea climate ensure an unmistakable single malt. Its complex and subtle peat-salty aroma is reminiscent of the Spray from the sea waves that constantly hit the ship's planks.
