This Landais pâté is one of our pride. When we decided to make this country pâté, we thought that not many people would be interested in it! But it has become one of our flagship products and we are delighted with its success! This traditional and artisanal preserve from the South West for sale online will be a must for your charcuterie platters or your sunny aperitifs. Why is this pâté Landais? Because to the traditional mixture of meat and pork liver that any good pâté has, we have added fatty duck meat from the South-West, for a more robust taste. And to remember where it comes from, we sprinkled the stuffing with diced foie gras, like our grandmothers did back in the day. Of course, our ducks and pigs come from New Aquitaine, fed according to historical practices, and raised on grassy ranges. The symbol of happiness is in the meadow, right? For those who like spicy pâtés, this pâté is also available with Espelette pepper (spicier, but not too much all the same!)  Complete your charcuterie platter with: Our rillettes (duck with foie gras, plain or with Espelette pepper or pork) Our preserved stuffed neck or our game pâtés (pheasant or game) “Pâté de foie gras” is a preparation made from foie gras (comprising a minimum of 50% foie gras), but it is not, as such, entitled to the designation “foie gras”, which is legally protected. As for foie gras (“block of foie gras” or “whole foie gras”), it is not a pâté, since, by definition, it only includes foie gras and seasoning.

 Preparation advice: Refrigerate your pâté at least 4 hours before serving and eat straight from the jar on a nice slice of fresh bread. Country pâté with foie gras goes perfectly with dry, rather “young” red wine such as a good Cornas, a red Vacqueyras, a Cahors, a Pomerol or even a Saint-Emilion.
