It is in this spirit that Margherita Matticari, in collaboration with our Studio, conceived and designed Le Plateau. More than just an object, Le Plateau is a true stage dedicated to the Art of Living Wine. Each bottle placed there, each glass raised there, becomes an actor in a moment of sharing, elegance and conviviality. Imagine The Tray placed on a wooden table, on the terrace of a Venetian palace. Murano sparkles on the horizon. One summer evening. Time stands still. Act I – The Object Conceived as a Volume The Plateau is not just an object: it is a volume, a minimalist micro-architecture. This approach gives rise to a sensitive elegance, experienced as much as observed. Act II – The Nobility of Wood Crafted from carefully selected cherry wood, its slightly raised base is handcrafted by our certified woodworkers. Result: glasses and bottles appear to float, as if weightless. Act III – The Backstage Surprise Every scene has its downside. If Le Plateau embodies the “garden side”, two cleverly hidden drawers are the “courtyard side”. One, dressed in a bright yellow lacquer, contains ten hand-crafted leather coasters. The other, dressed in deep blue, houses five essential Wine Tools, presented with refinement on a full-grain leather mat, held in place by wooden inserts. Thanks to the push and pull mechanism, these drawers open with a smooth movement. The contrast of colors—solar yellow and intense blue—infuses dynamism and modernity into the warmth of the wood, while the silver reflections of the Outils du Vin punctuate the whole with subtle bursts of light.
