The Roussanne peach is a variety typical of the Monein region, in Béarn. It is characterized by a beautiful orange-yellow color, stained with red and particularly juicy. It was already renowned at the end of the 19th century: the Basses-Pyrénées horticultural society cited this variety several times in its work. She has always been the queen of the village's patronal festivals known as the Peach and Grape Fair. Like the vine that produces Jurançon, the Roussanne peach draws its specificity and great taste quality from the stony soil of the sun-drenched Béarnais hillsides, facing the Pyrenees mountain range.
