The story of Plantivore begins in 1984, in the heart of Queyras. Maurice Leroy, an engineer by training and a lover of plants, left the city to settle in Les Roux d’Abriès, a small mountain village in the Hautes-Alpes.’
Visionary and patient, he created the company with the desire to transform the plant riches of the mountain: infusions, syrups, liqueurs, partly based on wild plants picked by hand.’
He thus created one of the first homemade infusions, laying the foundations for a unique know-how combining wild harvesting and traditional recipes.
HAS At a time when artisanal harvesting was still marginal, he became one of the first to structure an activity around this know-how.’
For three decades, Maurice has been developing a range of authentic products: infusions, jams, syrups and liqueurs, all made with carefully selected ingredients and processed locally. Its artisanal and nature-respecting approach quickly made Plantivore a benchmark in the region.
