The smell of the plant is reminiscent of celery, and the pinnate leaves of the perennial also look similar. Although Levisticum officinale - as it is called in Latin - originally comes from warmer regions and is therefore not of native origin, the umbelliferae also grow and thrive excellently in this country. With its intensely spicy, strong aroma, the green herb, also known as "Maggikraut", has gained a permanent place in the kitchen. The lovage for our seasoning sauce comes from the fields of our own natural cultivation. There, nature is not exploited, because the soils get deserved rest periods. Due to the three-field economy with fallow land, the fields have the opportunity to regenerate every three years. Our herbs, such as lovage, thrive at a sunny altitude above the Main, without artificial fertilizers and without pesticides. They are lovingly cared for, and the herbs thank the natural growth with a particularly intense aroma. Our lovage is carefully cut, gently crushed and preserved in first-class olive and sunflower oil. In this way, the unique scent and the full taste of the fresh herb are preserved.
