A mitten was lying in a clearing on a winter night... A rat, frozen with cold, passed by. Without further ado, he made it his nest. But soon a toad also slipped into the shelter, then an owl, a rabbit, a fox, a wild boar… and even a bear! Would the mitten hold up? New edition! This is an adaptation of a classic Ukrainian tale. The mitten, which had held up until the bear, cannot resist the arrival of an ant. And in this version, it’s a happy spider who takes advantage of the scraps of wool to weave a cozy web. The text is full of humor and rhymes. It plays on several registers of language and it is a real pleasure to read it aloud. In the heart of the forest, Antoine Guilloppé is a goldsmith. Here, he also plays with the silhouettes of animals and their expressions. His illustrations, where black is always present, are adorned with touches of bright colors which illuminate his work.
