Orange Wine - Just to See - Vin de France

Why “Just to see”? The story is simple... I had the opportunity to taste several orange wines, and the enthusiasm of my fellow winemakers for this wine piqued my curiosity. It is a surprising and disconcerting wine. During the 2022 harvest, the entire team began producing orange wine at La Freynelle. We tried to understand this wine, day after day, we tasted it, we analyzed it and above all we saw it evolve. The “Juste pour voir” vintage is the culmination of this experimentation and the work of an entire team. This clear, bright orange wine has a beautiful golden straw yellow color and kumquat nuances. The nose is zesty, with citrus peel, notes of lily of the valley, clementines and mirabelle plums. Stirring develops notes of mint leaves and nettles. The palate is massive, textured, held by tasty bitters, fresh and salivating. What is orange wine? Orange wine is a white wine vinified like a red wine. As with red wine, the juice macerates with the skin and seeds. The orange color comes partly from this vinification, this color can be more or less pronounced.
