Atypical red wine - Agios Georgios - Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion 2023

Château Belair Saint-Georges is a prestigious wine estate located in the Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion appellation. Under the passionate and expert direction of the Le Menn brothers, the estate practices viticulture that respects the environment and local traditions, while incorporating modern techniques to optimize the quality of each harvest. This wine is made from grapes from a single plot planted with the Greek Agiorgitiko grape variety, on clay-limestone soil facing the heights of a southern hillside in the Saint Georges Saint Emilion appellation. This is a caricature of a wine expressing an intense fresh and ripe fruitiness reminiscent of the Merlot grape variety, but with a spicier note. Taste-wise, this wine offers a sustained structure with good length enlivened by supple and silky tannins. The concept of this vintage is to offer a wine of 100% varietal origin from the Greek Agiorgitiko grape variety. This grape variety is also known as the Saint-Georges grape variety, so, by its geographical origins and its name, the Saint Georges grape variety planted in Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion on the driest and sunniest soils of the region suggests a beautiful story and a definite alternative to climate change.
