At the beginning / Children's book

In the beginning takes place over a period of sixty-eight years. When first reading, one may be confused by the time which goes back from 2020 to 1952, but the beauty of the story takes on its full meaning when we start the story again from the end: from 1952 to 2020... the skillful construction of the story allows it to be read both ways. At the beginning explores themes of family, nature, time and passing generations. The book takes us through the life of a family over three generations. A medlar tree, which slowly takes root in the family garden, becomes an echo of the history of family members through the years. The book has two front covers to invite reading in both directions.
